Swiping some blush across your cheeks is the fastest way to take your face from same-old to standout, but unfortunately some glow-getters don’t necessarily mesh well with your skin tone. And with so many pretty products on the market, finding the colour that is right for your visage can seem like a daunting task at best. So save yourself the beauty headache – use these tips as a guide to score the best flirty flush around (sans looking like a clown):
PALE SKIN TONES
If your have freckly or pale skin that tends to easily burn, lighter pink or peach shades are your go-to hues. For highlighting, opt for a light champagne colour for optimum impact.
If your skin has warm undertones, try a golden apricot shade or if your fair skin has cool undertones, enlist the help of a soft rose blush.
SHOP MY RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Kanebo Cheek Color in Blushing Pink, $25 2.Clinique Blushing Blush Powder in Innocent Peach, $37 3.
MEDIUM SKIN TONES
If your skin is in between light and dark, reach for rosy pink or deep peach tones as this will help to lift the complexion marvelously.
If your skin has warm undertones, experiment with a light rapsberry blush. If it has cool undertones, why not give a sunkissed apricot shade a whirl.
DARK SKIN TONES
Darker skinned babes can get away with rose powders or deep orange hues to offset their mocha skin tones.
If your skin has cool undertones, try using a plum blush. For warmer undertone, play around with brown suede blushes.
PRO TIP: Use a soft natural blush together with a slightly brighter shade in the same colour family to give cheeks a pop of color and help the blush to last longer. Apply the natural blush first, sweeping it all across cheeks, then swirl the brighter colour just on the apples.
